Boxee
It's an exciting time for television. The way viewers watch their favorite movies and shows are being transformed by giants like Apple and Google to scrapy startups like Roku and of course, Boxee.
AOL Artists
As part of the ongoing AOL rebranding efforts, our group was tasked with building a destination that would
showcase the fantastic work, and the artists behind them, that have helped shape the AOL brand.
The result was an
incredibly well-received project that has connected thousands of people with emerging artists.
The Daily
At the end of 2010, News Corporation launched the first ever major iPad-only publication. It was an exciting ride, with plenty of learnings, lots of press coverage, we even an ad on the Super Bowl.

Joystiq
I spent my teens building gaming related websites just for fun. When the opportunity to completely overhaul one of the largest videogame sites on the web came up, I was happy to jump on it.
We did a complete overhaul top-to-bottom. Joystiq's readers are some of the most passionate fans on the web and it was
great to see such overwhelmingly
positive feedback.
Project Devil
Advertisting online sucks, plain and simple. Users are clicking on ads less and less and there needs to be a revolution in online advertising.
Our goal was straightforward, create a new ad platform that would outperform any other unit on the web. Our approach was to create a set of guidelines and standards that would result in a clean, and consistent, ad experience that users could learn to use and trust.
Our launch was extremely positive with brands like Lexus, Sprint, and Walmart, signing up for campaigns.
Slash Arcade
A few years back, sites like Pogo and Miniclip were exploding by offering gamers thousands of games for free. Unfortunately, deciphering the quality of a game when one title is named "Tank Battle" and the next is "Battle Tank" is very difficult.
To solve this, we spent a few months working on a recommendation engine, similar to Pandora or Last.fm, but made specifically for online games.
The project never launched but it was an interesting study and some great ideas came out of it. Here's a glimpse.
Moviefone
Hello, and welcome to Moviefone.
Moviefone is one of the largest movie news & showtimes destinations on the web. We were tasked with rethinking the entire product from top to bottom.
Big Download
Around 2008, the AOL gaming division was looking to expand its reach into more niche destinations. With a bunch of fast servers, and a ton of files accumulated over the years, we created an ultra-hardcore gaming download destination.
Our brand promise was simple, we'll deliver you gigantic downloads, fast and simple. No queues, no ads, no sign-ups. Big Download and it's colorful mascot successfully served millions of gamers terabytes upon terabytes of files over the years until it was most recently rolled up into a larger offering.
AOL + Paper
AOL has become a strong supporter of the arts. Arguably the prestigious of art shows is the Art Basel Miami event.
We teamed up with Paper to create an engaging place highlighting the best moments live from the show.
Moviefone HD
Today, you'd expect everything you watch online to be in high-definition. A few years back, this wasn't the case.
This frustration led us to create the Moviefone HD Top Trailers hub. It was a place where movie fans could access the latest trailers, in full HD, without having to download anything, click around links, or have to settle with small movie players.
We were able to support a great experience by selling two multi-million dollar sponsorship deals. In the end, everyone won.
Games.com
A few years back, free online games were big business and one of the largest was Games.com. We served millions of users, with a collection of original titles, classic hits, and fun time-wasters.
